When bad admission decisions happen to good students

I found ivycoach to be validating from an expert on college admissions. True, we are talking about BS admissions, but there are stark similarities. Here she debunks the “lucky” myth that some students get in because of randomness or luck.

She confirms that Asians and Indians are stereotyped in elite college admissions, but unfortunately, she doesn’t delineate (at least in this article) the secret sauce as to why some get in and others don’t.

I’ve been following Bev/Brian Taylor however for about 6 years, and Bev knows more or as much about elite college admissions as anyone. I’m sure I’ve channeled her arguments in many of my posts. If you haven’t started following Brian and Bev’s blog for tips, it’s worth doing for COLLEGE admissions, but again much of what she states applies to elite BS admissions as well, and she does also have a space for that on her website as well.

@CaliMex definitely agreed! I’d shell out a few bucks for them!
