We might not be able to make the official family/parent orientation in mid sept. Does anyone know when, and if, one can bring items to the dorm, such as a fridge, for example?

After the dorms are open, you can visit anytime and bring "things." I have never been able to be there for orientation but have visited at other times.

You can also ship anything to school after labor day and it will be held at the mailing room in Brokaw Hall. If they haven't already, Lawrence will send you a list of all the addresses shortly. Good Luck!

thanks for the replies. Are the dorms open now ? Does anyone know when they open?

also,

if a student brought a bicycle, where would the bicycle be kept?

There is one dorm open now for students working on campus during the summer. These student workers all move to their regular dorms mid-August. They open for the rest of the students at various times: the sports teams come first in August along with the movement of the student summer workers, then the internationals come a few days before the other students for orientation in September, then the freshmen for freshman week or whatever it is called, then the rest right before school starts late September. The dates should be posted if not now then shortly.

I know bikes are stored in the summer in the basement of the various dorms and maybe during the bad weather as well. There are also bike rakes everywhere. On the bikes, I am not sure.

The dorms aren't open now, well technically they are, but you can't get the key to your room until Welcome Week.
