When did you get your Eli account?

Hi,

I submitted my Common App and supplement to Yale for RD on December 1st. I also submitted my payment at that time, but it apparently hasn't been received (the triangle is still red). I have also sent my ACT and SAT scores to Yale.

At what point did you guys get the email with your Eli pin, etc.? Was it after the payment was accepted? Was it after the application deadline?

Thanks!

Yes, I received my Eli pin by email nine days after I applied (SCEA). I think I got it by mail a day or two before, though. My payment hasn't been accepted either, apparently (the triangle is red), and I applied over a month ago. Guess Yale doesn't need the money. :)

Yeah, check the mail and check your spam. You should've gotten it by now imo.

The Eli Accounts info do not get sent immediately. The only people who got theirs relatively quickly were those who applied relatively late (the day before SCEA was due). So, it could take up to 2 weeks and considering it's SCEA season, it might just take a bit longer. So, don't worry. The delay is normal.

Umm, about the Common App: their symbols are probably just off. If you have submitted the payment on the Common App and the Common App says you submitted the payment, then you're fine. If you just mailed your payment to Yale without doing anything on the Common App, it wouldn't know whether Yale got it or not.

^ I respectfully disagree. Many people who submitted their apps early got their's way before any of the later applicants. I would still check with Yale to see what's up. Can't hurt can it?

^ Yeah they did. I said relatively early. Those who submitted their apps early got them like two or three weeks after submitting their applications. Those who submitted them the day before got them like a week later.

Point still stands that the "delay" seems normal. You will get it, don't worry. And since apps aren't officially due yet, you will still have plenty of time to send stuff in if you are missing anything.

Oh, nvm, I thought he was doing EA

Never got an email. It came in the mail. They sent it 10 days after I applied.

I got like 2 emails and 1 mailed version. They all included the same information. That was for early action though.
