I remember last year a lot of people knew their AP scores way before everybody else because they were on their college profile information thing. When will AP scores be given to colleges so I can find that out?

Traditionally it is mailed to you in the summer, though I forgot the time. Your teacher receives your classes scores a week before that.

I have not heard of this college-thing of which you speak–acceptances are more or a less finalized by then…

Well, some guidance counselors urge their students to have the scores sent automatically to colleges they are interested in so…maybe that’s what the poster is suggesting? I personally don’t know why you would want to have your scores sent to a college without knowing how you scored. It isn’t required by most colleges and why take the risk of having colleges see you only got a 1 or a 2 on the exam?

yea i just had my score sent to the college im going to. it’s not an acceptance issue, but they need my score in order for me to get credit for the test. if i score a 2 then oh well i wont get credit, but id rather do that than have to pay the $15 or whatever to send the score to my college later if i did well enough to get credit for it

If you’re a senior, then it really doesn’t matter because you’ve already enrolled into the college and why waste $15 and time that could be used for registering classes.

anybody actually know?

you will not get rescinded by any school for ap exam grades, so save the 15 dollars and send it to the school of your choice that you have enrolled in. they need the collegeboard to send the info so you can get credits.

The proctor said sometime in July.

the only problem with this is that i have to make my initial class selection before then, so i have to predict my ap scores and then take the classes i think i will have to take without knowledge if i got out of the prerequisites. however, some schools choose classes during orientation in august, which avoids this problem.

For the AP exams she took senior year 2 yrs ago, D found out her AP scores by looking at her “unofficial transcript” on her college login…seems like it was there a couple of days before the call-in-to-get-your-scores-for-a-fee date. She’d already been accepted and was enrolled for the fall by the time she took the exams…wouldn’t have mattered what scores she got on the test, but it was nice to know the scores early, even by a few days.

thanks astrophysics!

I honestly never even thought about that! but there is a section on my log in page for my college with test scores! sweet! I don’t need to pay the extra 8 bucks to find out!

It’s kinda funny, though, how UCSB will know before I do.

i think NYU does that also
