I am currently a junior, and I scored 223 on the PSAT, which is well above the NMSF cutoff in my state. So far, I have only taken the ACT and not the SAT, but I understand that a confirming SAT score is required to progress from NMSF to NMF.

When do I need to take the SAT, and what score do I need to get?

You need to take it by December of your senior year. If nothing has changed since my son was a NMF two years ago, you need a 1960 on the SAT. Essay is not included and you you the multiple choice writing score x 10.

I would recommend taking it at the earliest convenient opportunity. Sounds like you will do fine, but just in case there is an unexpected turn (illness or whatever) you have an chance for a do-over.
