When Do Incoming Freshmen . . .

I’m starting at LC in 11 days. I can’t really say which is better, because that’s just a personal choice. I’m heavily into the arts, and love the idea of living right in the city. But people at RH may favor the traditional campus, the sports, and being just 30 min away from the city, but able to retreat to a quieter place when they want to. So it’s a personal choice; if she considers it, have her visit both campus, talk to students at each, and try to make a decision from there.

ilovetoquit- I don’t even know what you’re saying anymore? You didn’t just casually ask Plattsburgh about her classes at Columbia; you accused her of bashing Fordham and asked her to stay off the boards, then you demanded to know which classes she took at Columbia, for your interested “daughter”. She told you all you need to know: that she transferred from Fordham into Columbia, and she took classes there this summer and really liked them. You’re entitled to nothing more.

I agree with collegebound that the campus you prefer will be a personal choice. However, when picking a campus it is also important to take into account your possible major. While many majors are available at both LC and RH, some are only on one campus (ex. business is at RH, dance is at LC)

Thank you collegebound, I’ll recommend those to her as well.

dlcor, please don’t bother trying to help me. In my eyes, you’re just as low as ilovetoquilt for starting this petty attack and I won’t likely be taking your suggestions or paying any mind to anything you post.

I offered that suggestion (to check which campus has your major) not specifically for you but for anyone who is thinking about which campus of Fordham is best for them.

Hmm…I liked Rose Hill better. It had a more traditional and relaxed feel. It depends on what type of atmosphere you like.

Don’t let the pathetic individuals influence, in ether direction, your opinion on Fordham. You’ll notice it is only the “parents” who behave this way.

Thank you for the input. I like traditional but she probably would want the city life that collegebound described. Looks like Sarah Lawrence is in first place (we’ll see if this changes after the tour), followed by Barnard, NYU, Fordham probably Lincoln Center campus, then Cooper Union, Pace and CUNYs

I have zero backups, she has about thirty.

Evidently. I thought people were supposed to mature as they aged, not regress to bickering with people half their age.

No bother.

Good luck on her decision…and yours as well. You still need to choose other schools to apply to.
I actually think your sister’s list of schools are all great choices.

I know I’ve said this at least a dozen times but really really, thanks for the help.

Also, just a heads up, I also gave my dad your email he has a bunch of questions about Columbia, Barnard and now Fordham. Mostly Columbia Engineering cause I have another brother who wants to go there and Barnard and Fordham for my sister.

In case an old guy contacts you, that’s him, I swear he’s a normal nice parent. I don’t know if Mel has contacted you yet but she has a really girly email so you’ll know that’s her.

Um wow, how many college-aged siblings do you have?!

Don’t worry about it, that’s fine.

Is it Melissa? If so, She actually did email me about ten minutes ago and I’m still typing my reply. It’s kind of a novel.

Yea, that’s her! Thanks a million more times.
I’m going to go visit a couple of the other college forums and get an idea of some other schools I might like. Thanks for the help, Platts!
