during what month do students usually start getting down and prepping for the exam itself? (i.e. from prep books etc;)

At my school, most people start prepping during the last 2 weeks of April or so ... An ambitious few get started at the beginning of April xP but I'm not one of them

Are you guys talking about review ...or actual preparation? i think its advisable to start a self study course gradually over 2 months or so... u know like a few chapters at a time. Gosh 2 weeks for learning an entire subject that u have never learnt in school... ridiculous!
ofcourse if its just a review of a course that u learn in school...then a couple of weeks are more than enough.

im asking with respect to studying for the exam, considering you're taking the ap class at your school. aka review and doing practice tests etc;

It depends on the subject

Some can start reviewing at the end of the first semester. Others take until the last month to just finish the material.

In April. Though in my case, it was early May... D:

mid april!

Last year, I started in mid-April, but I'm kind of scared with the amount of AP tests I'm taking this year, so I'll probably start like right before midterms.

i studied for 2 AP's for 5-6 weeks b4 the exams. i made a whole sched. and everything

a week before

the day before the exam XD

Well ... it's kinda like this ... Every year I tell myself that I'm gonna start prepping earlier, but I always end up reviewing the last two weeks before the exams. It's the same way for all of my friends.

And it's a pain .. but it happens every year xP
