I heard its in March. Is this true? And do OOS students typically get anything? We can pay full price, but my parents are hinting that I can’t go if I don’t get some sort of scholarships. UMICH is my dream school, so I’m really hopeful.
My friend got an in state scholarship in February. Oos usually don’t get much unless you are truly outstanding. Most in state people don’t even get scholarships. Umich doesn’t meet full need of oos students but I heard of some oos students getting good financial aid. Remember umich relies on out of state students for funding since their funding from the government keeps going down. They know plenty of out of state students are willing to pay full price so they increase the oos tuition every year.
Going to an out of state school is a choice you make. By making that choice, you should be willing to pay full price. Umich is a public institution, thus it has no obligation to meet out of state students’ need. If finances are an issue, you have the choice to stay in state.

Notwithstanding you feelings on the matter, UMich now gives excellent financial aid to OOS students. It perhaps does not meet “full” need, but it comes very close. The Victors for Michigan Campaign has made this possible. See priority #1.

From my understanding some scholarships were included in the emails/letters
