What did admissions say?? couldn't they help you find the user name or whatever?

Nobody answered. They've all gone home for the weekend at this point, I'm sure.

sometimes when you originally submit an online application to a school, in their initial e-mail confirmations of your app, they will give you an ID#/password. Have you gone back and checked any old e-mails from Syracuse? Good luck!

Yes, that was my first thought. I went back and checked all emails and paper mail. Plus, it looks like the kind of login box you get to log in to a network, so I"m thinking it's directed at the wrong place or something. I don't know. This is lame :( Thanks though...

If it means anything to anyone, it says to use my "CMS login/password"

I seem to remember last year when my D applied she got an "orange number" or some such thing. I think it was in a real (hardcopy) letter. Could that be it? that wouldn't explain why others are not having to do the same, though.

the same thing happened to me. i dont have any number or anything!

I didn't get anything like that at all. I did, however, post a message on the school's forum on here and already one person has said they have the same problem and suggest it must be a computer problem on their end. I guess we just have to wait... sigh Story of our lives, huh.

Try this number: "Computing and network support and services: Call 443-2677 or e-mail consult@syr.edu"

Usually network people are there 24/7 and they may be able to help. It sounds like a network/computer issue.

Good luck!

Thank you so much! I"m going to try that for sure, it sounds very promising!

yep.. im having the same problem. i got the email too. this is the most frustrating thing ever.

Well I emailed them and got a return email saying my request has been received and logged, so maybe they'll fix it before the night is out. I sure hope so!

did anyone call that computer #?

I got an e-mail today too and my link will not open either. It says the same thing about a network password!? let me know if anyone finds anything out.

I am sorry for all the frustration you all are going through tonight. If I could I would cancel my plans for the evening and drive over to the University and wake someone from admissions up and nag them silly until they fixed the computers! If I were in your shoes I'd be climbing the walls. If I did know anyone in admissions I would call them for you but unfortunetly i can only tell you to hang in there and hope for good news for all of you!
A symathetic mom in Syracuse...

I still say someone should call the network number.
Here's the page where it says how to activate a netID:
https://selfserv.syr.edu/accounts/newsuidlogon.asp

I called the number you gave us. It is also closed but gave me the same website you just did. However, as you may notice a network login is for people already admitted to the school because you need your SU number and not an access orange code to create o a network login...I think the letters are just under the wrong network. They are under an account that the system thinks is already a memeber of the school or something...i think that's the problem. But everything at admissions is closed...thank you though chrism

Ditto in regards to the thanks. :) And thanks mutsey87 for calling/letting us know :)

Oh well. We've waited this long... what's another day?

AHHH! I just got that too! I never remember getting a username or password, and I can't find one on any of my Syracuse papers I looked through. OH THE SUSPENSE!

Let me know if you find anything out, I'm going to just keep trying stuff.
(you're not the only one broadwaybound!) :)

I do have to comment- as annoying as this situation is, at least it's looking like pretty much all of us who were left hanging got the emails, so we'll find out really soon, which is awesome! The relief :D Now if only it would open and the other letters would hurry up. The luxary! ;)
