When do we hear? I've heard March 31st... is this correct?

"Candidates will be notified of their admissions decisions at the end of March."

That's what it says on my online application status.

I'm calling the admission office to ask them tomorrow. So I'll let you know when I find out.

yay, thank you ccameron90.

In the past, it's generally been towards the end of the first week of April, but maybe they changed it. Either way, good luck.

The lady at the admission office said that they are going to start posting decision online in the next 2-3 weeks, because she said it is rolling admissions (refering to the likely letters, I think). Either way, she said they would be mailed by the end of the month.

I heard that the ivies arrange it so that all of their decisions are sent out on the same day. Do you know if that is true?

I have heard that they do this, but I think that Dartmouth gets around this deadline by saying they have rolling admission, meaning they can notify students as soon as they make a decision.

They don't say they have rolling admissions! The closest they go to "getting around" the fixed day is giving out likely letters (because they aren't official). A lot of the other Ivies do the same thing.

If they send all of decisions one day, somebody could suicide :(

Well I'm just reporting what the admission office told me.

I have no idea why they would sya we have rolling admissions - maybe the student answering the phone didn't get enough sleep. We don't do rolling admissions - period. Likely letters aren't rolling admissions. It's possible he/she was searching for the right word to describe the process of sending out likely letters and settled on the wrong phrase. Students are definitely NOT notified as soon as a decision is made. The vast majority do not receive likely letters; it only seems that that is the case because this is CC.

thanks for the clarification johnleemk. So I guess there is no specific date yet - last week of march/first week of april.

Last year Ivy League notification day was March 29th.

It's the 31st of March.

Thank you Dr. Avrah, is that for certain though?

I wouldn't bet my life on it, but all the Ivies have it on the same day and HYP have 31st of March. The only thing that could be is that they have internal/technological problems and that they therefore make the decisions available on the 1st of April, but, unless that happens, it's the 31st.

Penn is coming out online on the 31st too.

Was the admissions office at least correct that decisions are going to be posted online?

Yes. 10char
