When do you find out EA decisions?

Where did you get info on the admissions portal? I don’t remember getting a letter, and my D doesn’t remember getting an email.

I was e-mailed my admissions portal information. “College of Wooster Helpful Tools” was the title of the e-mail, I received it December 11, a day after my application was submitted. Try calling admissions if you didn’t receive one.

^ Same here. I’d call tomorrow.

For everyone applying, is Wooster one of your top choices or a safety school or somewhree in between? It’s pretty high for me. I have a feeling there’s a good chance I’m going there or a certain LAC in New York State, though I have some reach schools I still have hope for. But I would be very happy at Wooster. I really enjoyed my tour and interview.

D went back and found the email, no change in status. D has Wooster pretty high on the list, but it has to compete with New College of Florida financially, which is going to be very difficult. She loves New College but hates hot weather, so we’re hoping for a miracle.

Anyone got their decisions as yet? How are they sending the decisions (email, post)?

Nothing here.

hi guys! i just wanted to let you all know that its coming in the mail. They mailed it today and should come in the next few days! I just called them. Good luck guys!

Ugh, more waiting!

yeah I know, I was also looking forward to knowing today.

I got an email ACCEPTANCE :D. But I am an international student. They gave me the dean’s award, but it is still too expensive for me. Can I appeal to get more aid? Wooster is very high on my college list!!

Congratulations PurpleMist. You can certainly try to make a case for more money. Doesn’t hurt to ask if you can support your request with your documented financial need.

Email acceptance? This is the first time I have seen someone on CC mention that Wooster sent an email note. I have searched all off CC and paid careful attention to what others who got accepted in ED and RD/ED/Priority in the last two years said about the mode of their notification. It was always by regular mail.

Perhaps they sent email because they know it takes several days for postal mail to reach international destinations. Was it from Mr. Atkins, the director of international admissions?

Any other international students got email notification?

Yeah, I got email notification- it was from Mr Atkins…
Anyway, same problem here. Still too expensive. Are they still going to announce need based aid, though I already got the Dean’s Award?

Sushmita, you may want to ask this question on the Financial Aid forum. I’m assuming you too are an international student. AFAIK, need based financial aid is based on numbers documented by filing the FAFSA and CSS. Not sure how that works for students whose parents don’t pay taxes in the US.

btw, international applicants who got email notification, did your online application status change to reflect the decision or does it still remain as “Completed Application in Review”?

I got the email from Mr. Brian Atkins. And my online status still says “Completed Application in Review”…do they announce need-based aid with the letter of admission or do they give those figures to us at a later date?

How much is the Dean’s Award?

Edit: Nevermind, I found it.

Decisions are online…but be careful, if you want to wait for the letter to find out, don’t open because the decision is listed on the first screen!

Congrats everyone who has heard! My admissions portal still says Completed Application In Review. SMK, were you talking about the admissions portal?

Yeah I am. I actually signed on for the first time today I was so anxious. Under the status of application it says “admitted” :)

Does it provide scholarship info or just tell you that you were accepted?
