After acceptance?
Before the application deadline?

After acceptance?
Before the application deadline?

I'm really confused

NOT after acceptance. Oh, now. Some colleges have a different deadlien for financial stuff (like aid and certification)from the admissions deadline, for some others it's the same time. I'd say go to CollegeBoard and check out when the deadline is either under "Deadlines" or "International Students" or whatever the last one is called. That or the school's own website.

i think it really depends on the school and whether or not you are applying for aid. if you are not applying for aid, most schools will not require your certication of finances b4 your acceptance, though some public unis like umich do. if you are applying for aid, it depends very much on the schs really. so u shd go and check out the details for each sch, but i guess there's no harm sending to schs which dun require anyway. though i heard colleges will send you the same form again to fill in after you decide to enroll.

I visited the websites, and it's hard to find information on it.. I guess they will inform me about the documents after I decide to enroll.

Hmm where are you applying to?

Tulane is asking for it, but I can't find the form in its website...
Do they really need it now?

Is Tulane really asking for it now? I browsed the website and it says "Students who reside in a country other than the United States or students whose family income is received in the currency of another country must complete the College Board 2005-2006 International Student Financial Aid Application to receive need-based scholarship funds. Incoming students must mail the completed form directly to the Tulane University Office of Financial Aid by February 1, 2005. Returning students must submit the completed form by May 1, 2005." which seems to suggest it doesn't require the certification of finances form now... and if it does, then that's very strange. Coz not only did they not mention in the above statement, the form is also not found under http://www.tulane.edu/%7Efinaid/Forms.shtml which I suppose should provide links to all the financial aid forms available.

But anw, if u still need it, you can always find it on other colleges' websites, e.g. http://financialaid.brown.edu/cimages/200607IntlStdCertofFinances.pdf

Most schools would prefer internationals to send in the FA application/cert of finance together with their application, considering that the admissions decision's tied in with our ability to pay. At least that's what I gather from various schools' websites.

what about CMU guys?? they do have a "Financial Aid" form but no "Certificate of Finances" form...

thats ok...
if they dont have the COF ..u dont need to send them

SM

What about Columbia?...I believe it should be sent after acceptance
