I’m a high school senior, and when I was accepted, I was awarded the Trustees Scholarship ($2,000 for students with a 29 on their ACT or higher, and in the top 20% of their class). I’m in the top 12%, and got a 33 on the ACT. Since freshman year, I think I’ve only gotten one or two C’s as final year grades in any of my classes (not proud, but it happens). There is a slight possibility that I may be ending my senior year with two C’s (1 A, 2 B’s and 2 C’s at the worst). 95% sure I’ll still be in the top 20%, and obviously my ACT score hasn’t changed. Do you think this will jeopardize my chances for the scholarship? How often does admissions revoke merit aid from incoming freshman?
This is a unique situation. Most likely, your scholarships were awarded on the condition that you graduate on time. It is unlikely that you will lose them due to high school performance; however, it is possible OSU will review your final transcript.
If OSU does review your high school performance, you will lose your scholarship immediately (it will never be disbursed). Once you’re in school, your scholarship requirements are evaluated Spring of your sophomore and junior year. If you lose it, there is no getting it back.
