When does roommate info come?

Got my Residential college assignment today (Martel), and was wondering when information on roommates and the O-Week group would be sent. There are a bunch of concerts and festivals in Houston I want to go to, and I'm hoping to be able to contact my roommate ahead of time about getting tickets. And of course bringing stuff.

Also, I'm in the midst of working on the composition exam. Any clue on how rigorously it's graded and such? I'm putting the hours in, I'm just hoping its not impossible and confidence shattering.

Thanks

I’m a freshman too so no information about the grading, but my letter (Sid Rich) says roommate stuff is being mailed on the 15th. Probably the same or close for Martel.

All colleges are mailing out the info on the 15th. Believe me, we advisors are just as anxious to figure out who the new students are in our groups are. I say go ahead and buy tickets for things - in all likelihood you will meet multiple people (especially early in the year) interested in going/getting out to do things.

Re: comp exam, I think the split is roughly by thirds, as in 2/3rds-ish pass or low pass. I don’t think that’s a set quota - just what it ended up being my freshman year (things very well may have changed).

Most importantly, WELCOME TO MARTEL! It is the best, and that is no lie.

Nothing to add here except to reemphasize the last sentence of silentsailor’s post. MBYM.

Don’t worry about the comp exam. Do your best, but at worst, you take COMM 103 which is a fairly easy class.

Will the roommate info be mailed out or emailed to us?

And as always, SID RICH. DEATH FROM ABOVE.

Isn’t it Sid Rich rules! Death from Above?

C’mon Antarius…Mors de Super=Death From Above! It’s Sid Rich’s motto!

Yeah, but Antarius is right that “rules” is part of the chant, and it looked like that was what you were going for.

lol my sincere apologies, Antarius. I’m an incoming freshman, so I have a LOT to learn!

Tut tut… A Sidizen being corrected about their cheer by a Wiessman ;)
