^^No way. That takes too much coordinated effort.

Let's just send in Jack Bauer to force decisions out of Stanford AO. It's much easier and more effective.

Yeah, tennis and nhs are right on... I think.

The Friday before makes perfect sense. Angry phone calls are lame. GET OVER IT!

Carnacki, you're right that angry phone calls are lame, but understand that a rejection from Stanford is painful. The rejections during EA are even called the Stanford slaughter.

Though, an acceptance (hopefully) from Stanford would be great!

JACK BAUER!
Jack Bauer could get into Stanford.

Dude, I bet it actually is REALLY nervewracking for the dean to finally push the button and send the decisions, not so much because he's afraid of angry parents, but moreso because of the second-guessing: "Did we accept/reject the right people? Will they want to come? What will our yield look like? Can we afford the FinAid for all the impoverished kids we admitted?"

I mean, that's a helluva job.

What will our yield look like?<<

I bet this is the question that really keeps admissions deans up at night. I they misjudge and the yield is low the school drops in the all-important rankings. If they misjudge and get a lot higher yield than they planned for, they find themselves in the uncomfortable position of trying to find a place to put hundreds students they don't have dorm space for.

Jack bauer's pal tony almeida did go to stanford lol! yeah, or we could ask chloe to get us the schematics of the stanford decisions. ahhh i wish they would give us a definite date!!!! i used my dad's email address and i dont want him checking it before i do!!!!!!!!!!!

^Tony Almeida or Carlos Bernard??? I do kno that Jack Bauer went to UCLA for undergrad and Berkeley for grad ... (ok I'm a 24 die-hard fan I must admit ... season 7 is totally awesome so far even though it's (1) nearly impossible and (2) doesn't make any sense, but hey it's TV, right?)

(in a much more serious tone than above)

^courer:

Actually Brown had this issue last year, so most colleges will try to be extra careful ... especially Brown.

^ Agreed. I think Brown had the "basement turned dorm" issue? I feel bad for the freshmen who had to go through several months living in a basement.

I hate this waiting. I know it's gonna be a rejection, and I kind of want to get it already. Also, I think I saw somewhere about it being 26th or 27th, not sure and I can't remember where I saw it

Tony Almeida. im pretty die hard myself, which is why i made the horrible tough decision not to watch this year's season until the summer, because i know i would miss episodes due to extracurriculars school, etc.
on a different note, i wonder if stanford's admit rate will be as bad as MITs this year. i know four highly qualified ppl who got completely rejected. NOt even waitlisted!

^Yeah, 1 person at my school got in, but the other 2 I thought that deserved it more got wait listed from MIT

MIT's website says their admit rate was 10%...and Stanford's says they are expecting 7-8%.

So it'll be even WORSE for us than the poor victims of the MIT Massacre.

I'm foreseeing Stanford Slaughter, Part Deux?

^^Stanford Slaughter?

NO WAY ... that's waaay too nice for Stanford.

Let's try Stanford Extermination!!!

I agree with whomever said this - this season of 24 is waaaay unbelievable. Too easy to get into the White House. Too easy.

@ Sea Legs, that's assuming that the Stanford CCers will experience the same brutality as the MIT CCers. Most would've assumed that CC would have a higher percentage (due to the quality of applicants on here), but MIT stuck here as hard as everywhere else. But come April 1st (or March 27th), we might just fit better at Stanford! In theory, we could have 100% acceptance rate, even if the national rate was 7%. Obviously, that's statistically an extreme outcome, but you get my drift :)

Actually, you can see full episodes of 24 on the internet (fox on demand). It's great, because I sometimes miss an episode or I miss the beginning of an episode and you can catch up. The Monday episodes show up on the internet pretty quickly, a couple of days at the most.

@ellemenope: I know, i have places like hulu and sidereel bookmarked, but even then, i sometimes get in a wee bit of trouble when my parents catch me watching tv online when im supposed to be doing chores or something. so i figure i can just wait until the summer and watch it all at once. the problem is, there is one kid at school i have to hide from cuz he always wants to spoil it for me by telling me what happened!

24 is way too life-consuming for me to watch. I mean, it doesn't seem like a bad show or anything, I just know that I wouldn't be able to commit.
