When EXACTLY should transfer students apply?

Hello, I am going to be completing my transfer application for Fall 2009, and have been remember the dates and everything for a while now. But recently I have read on many threads that their Cornell's Transfer Admissions is rolling, so those who send in their applications are at a better advantage than those who send it in late. My question is though:

It states: "Filing period for Transfer Common Application and Cornell Transfer Supplement February 15 to March 15"

Do people who send it in earlier than February 15th have a better advantage since after all, it is rolling admissions? Or is it even possible to send it in before February 15th and have an advantage?

I was wondering, because many people have told me to send it in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, but I am trying to figure out if that means I should send it in as close to February 15th as possible, or if I should send it in like right now, in the middle of January.

Basically, what is the earliest we can send it in and be at the advantage in terms of Rolling Admissions? I am guessing it has to be in the time frame they have stated, and anything before that doesn't get any advantage?

Thanks a lot!

i am trying to apply as a transfer student too....
i think what they want is sending them between Feb 15 to March 15.. cuz what they are doing right now is getting all the freshmen...

by the way. could you tell me more about your situation? For me , i am currently in montgomery college, which is not in NY and not belong to what they called "transfer partership school".
My GPA is 3.82... i just want to try cornell out.

I don't know how much of an advantage it will be for you based on personal experience. Myself and 2-3 other students at my community college applied the night the applications were due for last fall (one girl even sent it the next day) and we got in. Not that it doesn't look good, I just wouldn't really expect much from it.

I'm also applying for regular transfer (to CALS, not sure where you two are applying) and I'm going to be sending in all my common app info and paying for the application within the next 2-3 weeks. I'll work on the supplements and essay soon too.

I also went to CALS' Open House in the fall and attending the mini-transfer session they had. From what she told us, applying early does nothing because (at least at CALS) they wait for your mid-semester grades that are due around March 15th to make any type of decision. Though I do hope when notification time comes that it's rolling..then I can find out ASAP.

Wateradept heard correctly. Applying early does nothing because the adcom cannot start evaluating a file until all materials are in, which includes the mid-term report.

Additionally, I'd guess that each admissions office is still quite busy dealing with the freshman applications until towards the end of that submission range.
