If we signed up for our classes, do we get a list in the mail? or email of books we need to purchase? Can we go ahead and start buying books to get ahead?

Cal student store website - [Cal Student Store: Buy University of California, Berkeley College Apparel, Textbooks & Gifts: efollett.com](http://www.calstudentstore.com)

In regards to buying books early, you can do whatever you want.

Sometimes teachers change the book lists last minute. For pre-med classes it usually stays the same. I would say just wait till the first day of classes to be sure what the required books are, and then buy off amazon. You usually don’t need the books for the first couple weeks really, and it’s way cheaper off amazon - plus no lines!

Plus waiting for your books to come when buying online! Seriously, buy your books at the student store then find cheaper alternatives elsewhere. Then return your books to the studentstore before the return date.

If you want to get a head start, go for it, but don’t complain when the instructor decides to change up the syllabus or anything.

Look at websites that caters to Berkeley such as [ComeGetUsed and Uloop College Classifieds - Jobs, Apartments, Textbooks, Carpools, Roommates, Tickets, Furniture, Scholarships, Travel](http://www.comegetused.com) . Then check [Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more](http://www.amazon.com) and Half.com . I highly suggest Comegetused and Uloop because you’ll be helping your fellow students save money. Plus, they’re more likely to be looking for the textbooks you’ll be selling (especially the ones that are Berkeley editions).
