I know we have to pay the remainder by the time classes start since i didn't set up a payment plan but when are the scholarships and stuff in my fin aid applied? It's all from umich not a 3rd party source.

does anyone know when it is paid out?

if i remember correctly sometime in august wolverine access will show a balance. if you have financial aid the amount due will be less than the full so you just pay the differnece

If you mean when is your refund paid after the Aug. 31 bill I believe it is within the 1st 15 days of the beginning of classes…so don’t count on using it for arrival money Sept 1 : )

I got another question about the bill. On WA it shows for the fall term I will be charged $23,602. Now my scholarships/grants cover all but $743 which is covered by work study. If the bill comes in late august how will the remaining $743 be paid? Will I have to use my own money or will they shift over some grant money from the winter term and be expected to cover the $743 in the second term?

does anyone know how the financial aid refund works? Like if you took out too much money in loans but mich doesnt need it all will they send it back to you?

In order to get money from work-study you have to find a work-study job, at which point the money is paid directly to you. So it is your responsibility to pay that $743 to the university.

Is it possible to have a grant paying for winter term to be used for the 743 for fall then pay the 1486 (743 x 2) in the winter via work study? For example, on WA they have

FED SUPP EDUC OPPORT GRANT=$3000 in which they divide into 1500 for fall and winter.

So I was wondering if they could take $743 from the winter $1500 portion and pay for the fall work study, then the money I make during the fall term via work study pay for the winter term.

Sorry if this sounds really confusing, couldn’t really put it in words : /

No, I don’t think you can do that.
