I know that Wake Forest has rolling admission for Early Decision and I was told while visiting that I could apply any time after my junior year. I believe, however, that the application available online is for last year. When will the new admissions application be available?

Let me know what you think of my chances for Early Decision:

I'm anticipating a decent interview and good recs, short answers, and essay.

You look like a very strong applicant. I think you have an excellent chance.

I don’t know when the Wake application comes out. But, I think the Common App is released on July 1. That should work.

The new Common App is available on August 1 for 2011-2012.

Fall 2012 app is already available for WFU. Just left my interview. It is more like a conversation than an interrogation. Just be prepared to discuss extracurriculars, your academic strengths/weaknesses and current events and your position on them. Dress presentably but don’t try too hard. Don’t freak out either. Like I said, it’s just a conversation. Also don’t get nervous if your interviewer take notes - they’re supposed to. Also BE YOURSELF.

I think that most students who apply early decision will have a better chance at getting in than those who do not apply early decision. I would suggest that, if Wake is definitely your top choice, you apply early decision.

Best of luck! Congrats on being #1 in your class :)

Just bear in mind that ED and applying for FA do not mix at Wake. They specifically ask that you not apply ED if you need substantial aid. OP did not mention whether or not finances are an issue - but I’m mentioning it just in case.

That will weigh HUGE wherever you apply; that is a great accomplishment and you should be proud of that. On the AP thing, they’ll look at what was available at your school and then make that assessment relative to what was offered. Keep up the good work and you will be successful.
