When is the las day a school can tell a prospective student what his/her financial

aid package is?

Has everybody heard from all their schools?

dstark~

We are still waiting on a couple. I hadn't gotten all of our forms in at the proper time blush. ~berurah

I have a friend who is waiting too. The forms are in at the proper time. It can get a little frustrating.

One U has been extremely prompt, despite our tardiness (resulting from confusion about different forms required versus ones we had already submitted). Another U's is to come, but that's because they recently asked for some corroborating paperwork. Berkeley's particulars for the numbers came with the award announcement for the Regents'. (However, little was required, of course, for Berkeley's -- just the FAFSA, which was due some time ago, anyway, & we definitely made that deadline.)

Naturally, they all like to have the awards ready prior to May 1st, but when I called one U this a.m. to ask about any extra paperwork needed, I learned that the student's decision to accept the fin. aid terms is not due until enrollment in fall. Of course that's not too helpful if one wants to decide the aid as part of the May 1st decision. (!)

On another thread, Jamimom suggested that my daughter email the Dir of Financial Aid. She pointed out that an appeal from the student (often in a more refreshing style than the structured and labored tone we adults use) will get the ball moving.

Last Friday afternoon, my daughter sent her email. Within a half hour, she received a response, promising they would look at her package the following Monday. She responded, asking if they could email the details. They did on Monday afternoon. Today (Thurs), we STILL have not received the letter.

An email by the kid might work for you, too. It's worth a try....
