for dorms with mandatory meal plans
thanks!

You can still order a meal plan when you move on campus. They have tables set up everywhere for info, and sign up is easy. You just can’t eat on your plan until you have one!

aah I still have to do this.

can it be done online?

You can order online at this link:

Honestly, why get a meal plan? It sounds convenient, but I think it’d be way cheaper to buy stuff at the grocery store or just use debit at the places on campus. I think it’ll end up being cheaper this way rather than a meal plan.

The OP in an a mandatory meal plan dorm.

Oh woops. Haha.

350z, Although I also have a mandatory meal plan, I don’t feel like I should be grocery shopping my freshman year. I just want to focus on school and I’d have much more free time if I didn’t have to spend time cooking. Grocery shopping may be cheaper, but free time has value all in it’s own.

Also I’m fine with the food at FSU. I’ve heard people complain about the food but I’m not that picky and the food is fine. If I feel like eating something else, I can help a friend cook and eat with them or go out.

Is it really cheaper to use debit at the places on campus than to have a meal plan?

thanks Cybermom

I’m not saying go to the grocery store and having to cook from scratch. But you could buy simple stuff that is easy to make. And believe me, when you are at FSU you are going to have a ton of free time, it’s not like high school where you go from 7-3 everyday. Most likely you’ll have about 3-4 hours of class a day, which leaves PLENTY of free time.

Does anybody know what the current prices for a meal are? I think it used to be 6.50/7.50/8.50 for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, respectively, but since the meal plans have gone up, I’m sure the pay-at-the-door prices have gone up as well.
