<p>Is it worth it to also focus on scholarships at this time or would that be better off saved until after apps are submitted (Jan 1)?</p>
<p>Focusing on scholarships is NEVER the right strategy!</p>
<p>Focus instead on applying to schools where you wouldn’t need those outside scholarships . . . either (1) schools where you’d be eligible for significant need-based aid or (2) schools where you’d qualify for significant merit aid.</p>
<p>Don’t apply to colleges you can’t afford and then expect the “scholarship fairy” to bail you out!</p>
