<p>It doesn’t really make a difference. If the SAT was significantly easier in a certain month, the average scores across the country would be higher, and the scoring curve would still remain roughly the same.</p>
<p>My counselor at my SAT class says the test is usually easier after the seniors apply for college like around January because that’s when the curve is not too crazy.</p>
<p>There is no time when the test is “easier.” The experimental section is used to gauge difficulty and leads College Board to adjust the test to make it fair for everyone. A score you get in October in theory will translate to a similar score in March.</p>
<p>The curve is dependent on the test. It’s determine PRIOR to the test. Even if EVERYONE does amazing, because it’s an insanely easy test; but CB didn’t think so, the curve has been determined already, and everyone will get 800’s.</p>
<p>I also heard a lot of rumors that October SATs are generally more difficult, especially the international one this October. Many of my friends who got good scores took it in May. But maybe still a coincidence.</p>
