So I’m applying RD, and I originally thought that everything was due January 1st. But I recently received an email from ND Admissions and it said that the application is due Jan. 1st and supplemental docs are due mid-January. So does this mean that the 2nd half of my Common App (the 3 writing supplements) isn’t due until after January 1st?
Here’s the excerpt from the email:
If you have not submitted your application to Notre Dame and want to be considered as a candidate for our 2016 entering class, we want to remind you that the Regular Decision deadline is January 1. Your application is due on January 1; supplemental documents (writing supplement, high school transcript, teacher recommendation) should be submitted by mid-January.
For most of the schools you only need to submit the first part by the deadline, but if you already finished the second part, why don’t you submit it right away? It gives the officers a good impression that you finished everything on time.
I got the email too this morning. Confirmed that the writing supplement is NOT due Jan 1 at midnight. Here’s a screenshot as evidence. http://snpy.in/mCFnjG
Hey I’m just wondering, did you guys get the email while not having applied to Notre Dame? I’m not getting the reminder email and I’m wondering if it’s because I already submitted by Common App (but not the writing supplement) a while ago.
Also, what I don’t understand is, right here http://admissions.nd.edu/apply/application-overview/ it says “Submit the online version of the Common Application’s First Year Application AND the Notre Dame Writing Supplement no later than November 1 for Restrictive Early Action or January 1 for Regular Decision.” If it says there that the writing supplement is due January 1, why would it suddenly change? Did they include it in the list of things that could be sent later as a mistake in their email or something?
If its not accepted on the common app later, I’m just going to call the admissions office and say I was confused because of the email. I think they’ll accept it then.
