When is tuition due?

When is the first installment of tuition due for UC Berkeley? I couldn’t find anything online and haven’t received any notifications so I’m worried. Especially if they don’t let me register for courses because I haven’t paid.

Call the bursar’s office and ask.

Once you register for classes, UCB will generate an e-bill.

The Billing Process (Timeline: Dates are approximate)

1 month prior to semester start - an e-bill is sent to you
About a month before the semester starts, a billing statement (e-bill) will be sent to you. Your financial aid awards will not appear on the first statement. Sign up for EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) which allows any financial aid refund to be deposited directly into your bank account.

Fees/tuition are typically due the Friday before the start of instruction.

@Gumbymom If you know, does Berkeley allow monthly payment plan? (I know I can call the fin office, but hanging on hold for 30 min is not something I am looking forward to).

@ElenaParent Noticed the following Website has “The Fee Payment Plan (FPP)” info http://studentbilling.berkeley.edu/deferredPay.htm

I logged on to Cal Central yesterday and it looks like 8/17/18, which would jive with what @Gumbymom says about it being the Friday before instruction starts.

FWIW the university housing bill just came in this afternoon, and that is broken up into 5 payments due on the 17th of each month. Well, actually it will be 10 payments, but the Spring semester housing billing won’t show up until later. I’m wondering if it’s worth the hassle of setting up a automated monthly payment for such a short period of time.
