When should i apply!

<p>Hi, </p>

<p>I am willing to apply to stony brook and have give SAT in October. The results are out and I got a 1620 so I am retaking in December.</p>

<p>Can someone guide me if I should apply now or not, or wait till I give my December SAT? Is it possible to apply and send the scores later after the December SAT? Will this cause any hindrance in my chances of getting accepted to stony?</p>

<p>I am new so need some help!</p>

<p>Small detail. If any of the sections of your previous SAT are better than the new one you take then you have to send the entire set in order for the school to see. </p>

<p>So for example if your critical reading is better on the older test, you have to send all 3 scores in order to show the critical reading one.</p>

<p>So only if all three scores of the test in Dec are better do you avoid this.</p>

<p>The Dec SAT scores will not come out for two weeks after you take the test and take the collegeboard another two weeks after you request them to arrive at the school. So that means they can’t get there until after Jan 1. </p>

<p>So first,
Check with the school about the best way to alert them to a rise in your scores which you expect with the Dec SAT eg. by emailing the admissions counselor for your state directly.
Tell them Stonybrook is one of your top choices so you really want to make sure they see them before making a decision. I would even ask them what they think about waiting or not to send in your app. </p>

<p>According to college data: Your Oct scores are in the middle 50% so if your GPA is also within range you could probably can apply before the Dec SAT. if you want, which some people think shows interest in the school. </p>

<p>I think applying earlier than the deadline for RD but after one for ED makes some sense.</p>
