i'm an international incoming freshman.
i heard that usually american schools starts in September.
how about Rutgers??
do you know the exact date?

Tuesday, September 1st 2009 is the first day of class. You would want to be there before that date.

The following link has the academic calendar:

[Rutgers University Academic Calendar](Academic Calendar | Academic Scheduling and Instructional Space)

Thank you!

I know that classes start on September 1st, but when is moving in day?

i don’t know about this year but moving in last year was the 29th of august on friday and classes didn’t start until that tuesday. you’ll have orientation over the weekend, and some people skip that and just come in that monday. I wish I had skipped it.

they’ll let you know during the summer with all the moving info. you’ll get a lot of emails about that stuff.

Expect move in day for New Students to be some time around August 29th (Saturday). Can’t confirm this yet since I couldn’t find anything about it on the Rutgers housing page.

As a freshman, back in the fall I had two days of orientation. Third day was orientation for the specific academic schools (SAS, Pharmacy, Engineering, etc.). And then classes started on Tuesday. You might experience something like that.

The orientation was a waste of time for me. But I was lucky that I got to skip some of the events because of band practice for the football game.

Thanks for all your help!
