When should I schedule interviews

I’m from Mass and I am going to have to schedule interviews at Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Yale, and UPenn. I am not going early to any of these schools, but I still don’t wanna find out that I missed my chance to schedule an interview. Also, how do I schedule an interview? When is the best time to interview? What should I do before an interview?

Are you a legacy? Have you checked about the interview at Penn??

no legacy.

I think you would do well to determine which schools on your list grant interviews and whether it is a courtesty or counts for something.

Penn: "Individual on-campus interviews are not available as requests vastly exceed our ability to meet this need."

RIght, but penn has alumni interviews that they do. All of the colleges seem to say the interview should be taken if possible. Penn seemed to push that the least. They also said that they don't do interviews for regular candidates until after your application is submited, so I should just wait until then. Are you saying it is not necessary for a UPenn interview?

I've read that you send in requests for interviews in November, so you can have them during December. Whether it's on campus or not, I think it's a good idea, if only to get a first-hand opinion of someone who went there.

You said you were not a legacy. I said that Penn doesn't give interviews unless you are a legacy. Conclusion: You cannot get an interview so it is by definition not necessary.

hazmat:

just like ares stated, penn has alumni interviews, so in fact, she can get an interview.

im a guy btw

I guess I don't understnd how a student who is not a legacy is going to get a legacy interview or how a person says they are not a legacy but now they are. Oh well.

An alumna doesn't have to be related to you. He doesn't have to get a legacy interview if they offer alumni interviews.

No, but hazmat's point is that you can't SCHEDULE an interview if you're not a legacy, so you dont' have to worry about it. You just have to wait for an alum interviewer to CONTACT YOU, which may or may not happen.

The same goes for Princeton (only alum interviews). Yale has on campus interviews, I think you can schedule them online. The majority of their applicants get alum interviews though.
