Whens a good time to do the math and spanish placement tests?

Also, are you required to take a math course freshman year (if doing liberal arts).

Any time. I would suggest NOW so that you can retake before the May 11 (I think) deadline.

If you scored a 28 on the math part of the ACT (I THINK. Check me on that), or have passed any AP calc tests, then you do not have to take math.

Yep, it’s a 28, I remember because that’s exactly what I got on the math part of the ACT.

Oh, and if you do need to take a math course (if you don’t fill one of those requirements), you don’t necessarily need to take it during your freshman year, you can take it any time.

Take one ASAP

As a Michigan State student, I recommend to you… place where you want to place, and don’t try… because you may place just TOO high.

:)

And it cuts you out from a lot of other opportunities/classes, that build on it and are much easier. Plus, you need the credits anyway for some majors…

So, why place into Calc I and you need 3 math classes to graduate… why go to Calc IV? When you only need Calc III

I hope that makes sense.

Wait, you need 3 math classes to graduate? I thought the requirement was only one?

It is only one for general undergrad reqs. Your major may require more though.
