Hello all. When is it best to apply when transferring? The applications usually open up when classes start (around September) but they aren’t closed until the end of February.
I am a sophomore in college. At the moment I have completed 43 credits and at the end of this semester in December I’ll have 60.
I was wondering if applying before the semester is over would have an impact (they’d see less credits so less to consider and more likely to be denied). I think 43 is closer towards what people usually have after 3 semesters, so I guess I thought my situation is confusing.
Tldr: I have 43 credits right now and a 4.0 but in December I’ll have 60 and possibly won’t get an A in all classes. Should I apply now or wait until I get my grades for the fall semester?
Another detail I should add is I’m majoring in geology. I haven’t taken many STEM courses yet though. I’ve only completed chemistry 1. This semester I’m taking calculus and chemistry 2 as well as discrete math and I plan to take physics 1, calc 2, and a CS course next semester.
Will the lack of STEM affect the decision if I apply to schools like UMich and UW Madison?
