My DD has started her college application and has complete the easy ones for some state Universities that are her safeties. She has already taken the ACT/SAT tests 2 times but will be taking them one last time in Sep/Oct. She we hold off in paying to have any scores sent to schools now and just wait until she completes her final round of tests to send them then? We will take advantage of the free reporting to the schools for the tests she will be taking (especially to the schools that require we send ALL sets of scores and not just the best set). Or should we go ahead and have the scores sent now to the schools that her scores already qualify for the guaranteed top merit scholarships (like Alabama, Ole Miss and LA Tech)? If we send the current scores to these schools now, it there any reason to resend them again if she gets higher scores next time, if she's already qualified for the top scholarship?

Since most, if not all, deadlines for EA/ED are after the Sep/Oct scores, you may just wait for the free score submission for SAT as it includes all previous tests. While for ACT, you need to pay for each test score. Fortunately, the Sep ACT score would be available much earlier than the deadline, you may still submit the free score first and then decide whether you need to submit a score from previous test. In either case, you need to monitor the application status and make sure the score got submitted as there will be little time to solve any score delay issues.

MidwesternHeart - Okay, so your daughter already qualifies for the guaranteed merit scholarships . . . but what about any competitive ones? Also, if she’s thinking of applying to any of the school’s honors program, you’d best wait until her final test scores are in.
