When to take Math IIC

Hey when is the best time to take Math IIC?

Besides an actual test date, I mean how much math should you know to get a good score (750+)?

I am currently in Math Analysis (Pre-Calc) over the summer and plan to take AP Calc AB in the fall. I want to take Math IIC in October, but I don't know whether it's a good idea to take it right after Math Analysis.

You should be fine. I took it right at the end of PreCalc and got a 760. As long as you're reasonably good at math and have covered all the precalc stuff, you should be fine. Just buy a review book (PR or Barrons).

yea

calc AB (or anything after precalc for that matter) has nothing to do with math2c

math2c = geometry, alg2, precalc basically

take it after youre done with precalc- of course i did that and i got 630 hahaha i dont know what happened. then retook it the next year (after IB Methods) and got 740, still not great but better

math iic has absolutely no calcs. so now wud be a good time.

btw, can you just take precalc and take AP calc AB test? i've heard that you get gruesome results.

Definitely take it now, I took it practically at the same time as you [the end of junior year after finishing pre-calc] and I did pretty well b/c all the trig I learned at the beginning of the year and algrebra from the year before was fresh in my mind.

You still need to prep with a prepbook though....a lot of the questions on Math IIC are easy if you've seen them before. I know a lot of the questions I had never seen in my Precal class, like the f(x) crap.

Good thing I had a TI89T+ :)

So true.......

lol glucose you've never seen functions in your precalc class?! ****ty curriculum, that's appalling

lol i dont think he meant that i mean...functions are in like ..alg2 classes...wait..not even..there in Algebra 1 classes...lol

In 6th grade we never learned it by f(x)

it's just freaking y...

lol...wow.......well..now you know ...

well...actually I don't know/care

my calc solves it for me :)

Yeah I agree with everyone - take it now but review. You'll probably do a mini review in AP Calc because the beginning of a math class is always review. That coupled with review on your own would do you good.

just wonderin...i have a 83+ (silver if that matters) and i was wonderin should i get the 89+ for math ii/calc ab?...is there a big difference?

I did.... :)

Umm, I really don't know if there's any difference, but I used my 83+ for math II and calc AB this year and they both worked out fine for me, so there really isn't anything you should be worried about.
