I am a freshman and next year will be finishing with world history. Should I take the World History Subject Test at the end of sophomore year? When is it normal to take the tests?
@kimclan1 Taking the subject test right after finishing the subject is usually not a bad idea, but keep in mind you may not have to take the world history subject test, depending on where you’re applying. You have over a year to decide, though.
Another option is to take the subject tests sometime early senior year (when you know where you’re applying and what is required - I did this), but a small disadvantage is that it is easy to forget things if you learned them awhile ago.
I did see on another of your threads that you wanted to be an engineer, so you probably won’t need to take history. Most schools want a math subject test(go with math level 2) and a science. Math level 2 covers up through precalc, so I would take it the year you’re taking precalc and whatever science you were doing that year in addition.
