When to Transfer? (Aerospace Engineering)

Hello All,

I'm planning to transfer from a CC to Cal Poly Pomona for the Aerospace Engineering program and just have a few questions.

The General Ed + Lower Division requirements are going to put me at 121 semester units before transfer.

Should I try to trim down and transfer before satisfying the CSU-Breadth/Lower Division?

Would it be advisable to transfer to an engineering program before taking Calculus and Physics and take these courses at the university level?

I feel as though if I were to continue on my path, I'll have completed all my lower division major and GE coursework. This would leave upper division major courses and 3 upper division GE courses to be available. It looks much harder than the typical curriculum which seems to balance out major coursework with "easier" G.E.'s. Am I setting myself up for failure here? (I will be going to school full-time while working part-time.)

Not familiar with the curriculum of Cal Poly. But will say at most universities, once you reach junior and senior status you are solely taking classes for your major and a free elective here and there.

So the major requirements you can get out the way for your major now, the more free electives you can fill up your schedules with later on. Which will help balance out your schedule.

Taking all your G.E’s early as possible is the best way to go. The hardest thing will be balancing full time school with part time work.
