I got two of the Economics/PoliSci emails also. Made my heart race because I thought it was THE email

Are people who put "undecided" on their application not getting these emails?

Giantredlobster, i agree with you. i can't understand why they would send our emails regarding our majors and their related programs only to people who got admitted already. it probably means nothing, but it's still hurting my hope a bit.

Yes and no. I put Econ down as my major, and I've gotten the Obama and Thanksgiving one, but apparently not this one.

I got a question for you guys who got these e-mails. Did you guys put on your applications that you were going to major in the specified subjects of the e-mail?

Yeah, I put them down on the Common app.

I wrote my major down on the common APP (which was the subject of my email) AND i wrote it down when UChi came to visit my high school.

Hmmmmm.... I got the email about the interests we told UChicago about, but after these words:

"As you continue to think about the College at the University of Chicago, we thought that you might like to read more about the following areas in which you have indicated an interest."

there's nothing. no links, no information, nothing. I'm worried.

And yeah I got the email twice. Once without my name but some symbols and the words "first name" then another email with my first name.

=/

To get everybody's mind off admissions for a second, has anybody tried a mcgangbang from mcdonalds?

Guys, I've still been receiving stuff from the office of admissions encouraging me to apply, so probably if you signed up for any email communication outside of applying to the college you're getting these emails.

I bet you my left foot they are meaningless. Relax.

^ Oh wow, maybe it's because I just ate, but those look nasty.

Glad I read this thread before I checked my email, or I would have had a heart attack. It seems unreal that soon, I'm actually going to get THE email...

Giantredlobster-

I have become irrevocably enamored of you. Thank you ;-; My fears have melted away.

To all of you guys that are FREAKING out about the email.. I think that if you were on their mailing list prior to applying.. meaning you were getting info from sophomore year.. then you got the emails.. otherwise you didn't. Please correct me if I'm wrong.. if you were on the mailing list yet didn't get the emails...

I'm hoping the emails are for the chosen ones though.. bc I got them =p

Oh I hope not, that would mean my interview is the deciding factor in my admission.... or they already decided it was a no and to be polite and in the off chance I do a stellar superb interview I would get accepted.... and I didn't get the email..... Das ist nicht gut....XP Oh well, I suppose I and everyone else will find out soon...

^^ Do you realize you mad absolutely no sense in your post?

okay the paranoia is to the point where i'm thinking that not getting those two "teaser" emails today means an automatic rejection/deferral b/c U of C no longer cares enough about you....

so to appease my fears...and that of the others of us out there who have been left out of this cult of receiving deceptive emails...can we all just say the majors we listed on our app when we applied and whether or not we got that poli sci/creative writing/whatever other major-related email?

i put down like biology/biomedical sciences/english/premed or something like that (don't remember specifics, but it was definitely bio-related) and i did not get the emails. what about the rest of you?

If it comes on December 15th...that's six days guys!!!

3 if it comes the 12th......hyperventilating

I seriously will not be able to pay any attention in church if it ends up being the fifteenth...

ha! well i hope it comes sooner then later.

hannahmontana-i put my major/academic interest as creative writing on the common app and when they visited my high school.
