@WindyNation: COngrats!! Also, did you originally apply to the college of liberal arts?

@roinujo1: Yes, I did. My application was completed on Oct. 14th and I received my decision on November 19th. So technically about a month.

Congrats WindyNation…this is a very exciting time for you and your family. According to my son - you will not be disappointed with your experiences a the U of MN

DS just received an acceptance letter in the mail. However, he has not received any e-mail for his website account. Did you get an e-mail with the sign on?
Also, for those of you accepted into Honors program, did you have to apply for it specifically? DS is high stat kid so I am curious to the process of Honor program.

I think the Golden Gopher Application includes the application to Honors program automatically. I am not sure if the regular application does that too. My D did the GGA and got accepted into the honors program a week or two after acceptance.

I applied on September 18th to CLA, and I just got the “carefully considered” notification today! I was worrying a bit because it was taking so long.

billcsho, did your D receive the honors program acceptance notification a week of two after she received the admission acceptance letter?

Also, has anyone received e-mail to set up web account in order to check acceptance decision on-line?

@4beardolls, UM won’t send email for set up web account. You need to have student # to set up in the application tracker. (it should be in your acceptance letter or you can call the office to get the number).

@CherryLee, it is a good sign if your application is “carefully considered”. Your acceptance should be on the way.

AoPSFan1, thanks for the detailed and accurate information!

4beardolls - give admissions a quick call today to obtain the student ID number. They are very receptive to phone calls. Congrats on the acceptance!

@4beardolls,
My D e-mailed UM a feel days after getting the application confirmation e-mail to ask for the Student ID. You need that Student ID to set up the web access. I just browsed through my earlier post on the thread again to look for the dates.
My D got the acceptance status updated on the web on 10/14. The admission package was received on 10/19. Actually on the day that we received the package, we found the honors program acceptance on the web. The letter for the honors program came 1-2 weeks later though.

Kajon, I found the student ID number which is in the acceptance envelope just like AoPSFan1 described. Thanks.

How long does it usually take for the admission packet to come? As an international student, I need it ASAP for my VISA transferring process.
PS: I was accepted on 11/19

Thanks for those of you who helped with information regarding notifications. We just went on to the Application Tracker and found that DS was accepted to the Honors Program.

@WindyNation, normally the mail should arrive in one week’s time in the state. Overseas could take about 2 weeks. You may add one more week for the holiday season. I would put 3 weeks and expect o get it before Christmas.
