Where have you heard that people were notified?
@unifeva For admission to Canadian universities, generally the only things that matter are your grades and test scores. (You may need an essay for certain programs like Engineering or Architecture). The application process is pretty straightforward; you use UofT’s application that is available on your website. Your school should be able to send them your documents as they would to an American college. For international students, UofT does rolling admission. I applied initially in November, but all my documents were not submitted until the beginning of February (because they required my midterm grades). I heard back soon after in mid-February that I was admitted. For the Pearson scholarship of course ECs are important. For the scholarship your school needs to nominate you (only one person per school can be nominated). No one in my school really applies to Canadian schools, so I just asked my counselor to nominate me and she did. UofT then sends you a link to the essays to submit for the scholarship. I haven’t heard back yet so I can’t give you a picture of a recipient. Hope this helps!
@lunamir we still haven’t heard anything (positive or negative). I think we are going to commit to another school. Good luck to you!
Since some people have already been awarded the scholarship, does that mean I haven’t received it? Will those who haven’t received it be notified? Since I don’t want to be waiting around for nothing
@archilochus congrats! were u notified through email?
I have not received any notification regarding the Pearson scholarship…should I commit to another school then?
@BHan98. That’s what we decided to do because my son had some very good options elsewhere. However, it certainly might be worth a phone call to the Office for International Students at Toronto before you commit somewhere else. Good luck with your decisions!
I havent recieved anything regarding the scholarship… does this mean i didnt get it??
@thelesswebecome IT’S ALREADY THE 18TH!!! Since I haven’t received any email notification regarding the scholarship, should I just commit to another school?
I understand that all appilcants and nominating counselors have been notified. If you were nominated and haven’t been notifed, you may want to contact U of T. Congrats to the scholars and best wishes to those who were nominated by your schools, which is an honor unto itself.
