Swissmiss,

UNC-CH. i guess technically its a higher ranked school, its just kind of a bummer because i live in chapel hill and want to go away. still waiting on 5 schools though...

i'm acceptedd (:

I wonder if not writing that "optional" essay had something to do with it.

Oh well. I'll just hafta wait to hear from my top choice next week. Hopefully with better results.

Congrats to all who got it!! :)

Good luck...at least you've got a super in-state safety! Hope you get good news from the last 5.

Yeah, I already got into Carnegie Mellon as well, but CMU tends to love my school. I am just worried if this a forecast of the rest of my decisions (most of which are more selective than Bucknell), but this thread settles me down.

Unfortunately a lot of kids who are qualified get turned down or wait listed. That's just how the process goes

That said, I agree with swissmiss3... I hope it works out that way. This seems to be a bad omen for decisions to come, but hopefully not.

yeah chronic future im in the same boat as you

I'm waiting on 5 more selective schools as well, but American U with Honors Program and scholarship money is pretty nice.

Since I don't know for sure if it was my lack of interest or Tufts Syndrome I am kinda worried about the other selective schools, but I'm also happy with what I've got. So que sera sera I guess.

Ugh if only my state school was UNC-CH. I got rejected OOS. Still, I understand about wanting to get away.

I'm out of here. Maybe I'll watch a funny movie with my sister. Animal House, Perfect Score, Accepted. You know, get my mind off college admissions.

Congrats to all who are IN, and good luck to those of us who are waitlisted or rejected.

lol, nice swissmiss.

**** this whole process lol

i just wonder if i stand any chance at all at duke, tufts, and brown when i get waitlisted at bucknell...

Well i just checked and I didnt get in.

Bucknell was my first choice.

I guess even if I did get in I probably wouldnt have been able to go because of money. Im still dissapointed but I still have plenty of other options.

My stats were:
GPA: 3.35UW/3.66W
SAT: M670 CR 590

Great EC's, essays, and reccomendations.

I applied for engineering, so it was more competitive.

Even if I did get in I still would have had to go into lots of debt to even be able to go there, so it probably wouldn't have been even possible to go there.

sorry to hear that man, best of luck with your other options.

I kinda already was expecting it since it was a reach for me, and i kept telling myself that even if i did get in I would have to amass huge amounts of debt in order to go there, so in the end I probably wouldn't have been able to go. I kinda already accepted the fact that I wouldn't be able to go even if I did get in, so it wasn't as bad. Still kinda disappointing.

Actually it looks like a target for you to. 25% get admitted below 600 CR and you fall into the math middle 50th percentile. I know the decision isn't what you wanted, even when you have prepared yourself for the fact that even if you get in you probably can't go (story of my life/everyone's lives in this lovely economy), but don't think it was because you weren't qualified, because it sounds like you are to me. Good luck with your other admissions decisions. Something will work out for us. We're all motivated kids. Not all that many kids have CC accounts and that just shows that we really care and that no matter what happens or where we end up we won't have let ourselves down by aiming as high as we could.

I know, it just seems that Bucknell was the perfect school for me. I know my SAT scores were about 100 points below the average for the college of engineering. But I guess that this whole process can be somewhat random

im in.....! when are we supposed to hear about scholarships? most important part for me....
congrats everyone whos in!

i GOT IN!!!!

I hear financial aid packages are being mailed with the decisions letters. At least that's what they said on the phone.
