So so nervous.

April 1st!!

The wait is killing me too!

29 days! (I hear back from 4 schools that day… you bet I’m nervous/anxious/scared/impatient!)

We’ll release regular decision notifications by the first week in April. When we have an exact date we will post that date here, on our website, on our blog and in our social media.

Would like to thank the W&M Admission staff for all the great information. As a parent I would like to know if you will be notifying students for regular decisions by mail or will you have a link to check on-line??

W&M admission, are decisions released online or by mail only?

Decisions are released via email to the student only (parents will not receive a copy of the email). Those who are waitlisted or denied will receive their letter as an email. Those admitted will receive a short fun email letting them know that more information is coming to them by mail.

Hopefully with the word “congratulations” included somewhere in the e-mail? :-)

tribeparent15, our admit email is a bit quirky and we hope fun but we also believe the message it sends is pretty apparent

Just joshing, our W&M 15er, and 'rents, thought it was great.

Whew. That’s good to know. We received some mixed reviews during early decision so we are adding one line that we hope clarifies the point of the message!

when will international applicants get their decisions?
thx.

International applicants will receive their decision at the same time as all other regular decision applicants (first week of April at the latest). Since we email all decisions, international students are not disadvantaged in terms of snail mail. For those who are living abroad, the email will include a link to the admitted student web site that has a copy of what is sent to admitted students by snail mail.

I live in Northern Virginia and all my friends have already recieved their decisions from William and Mary (email and letter), but I have recieved neither. Does that mean that the Admissions Board has not reviewed my application yet, or (as paranoid as it may sound, I am that desperate) was there a problem with my email account/mailing address? Thank you.

helpmeeee, no regular decision student has received an email notification about their decision, we promise. Early decision admits were emailed yesterday to let them know that their updated admit pacs were in the mail. Regular decisions scholarship recipients (a very small portion of our admit pool) were mailed their decisions last week. The bulk of regular decision notifications (which will be sent by email) have not bee released and will not be for a few more weeks yet.

If you got the two automated emails from W&M letting you know that we received your Common App and that your application is complete, rest assured that it will be reviewed and if you received those emails then your email is working because it’s that email that we will send your decision to. If you have not received those emails, please contact us immediately as 757-221-4223 so that we can determine if your application is complete and if we have the correct email address on file.

W&M Admission, will the RD decisions come out in time for reservations to be able to be made at local hotels, etc, so that admitted students can attend on April 16? Do you think reservations will be tough to get if it is already April? I know Williamsburg is a busy place with tourists once the weather is nice!

teachandmom, we release decisions at about the same time every year and we’ve never had families tell us they’ve had trouble making hotel reservations for Day for Admitted Students weekend. Williamsburg has a plethora of hotels within 5 miles of campus and of course many families will not need hotels (those from Charlottesville, Richmond, Northern VA and Norfolk/VA Beach often just come to campus for the day and do not stay overnight) so there should be no problem procuring a room for the weekend if needed.

The admit pac and websites we provide admitted students also provide information on local accommodations to help families with their travel plans

Thank you, W&M Admission. If my D is admitted, she would be eager to attend, so figuring out the “what if” travel plans is another task on the list of “stressful” April “to dos”!

While we did not book a room for decision day, I can state that there is no problem getting a room in the Williamsburg Area during Freshman move in day. Our out of state family had made reservations ahead of time. But, we spoke with several other parents during Freshman move in day, who stated that they had only made reservations at local hotels “the day of move in.” The town is most welcoming, and my son just loves the school.
