We didn’t think any rudeness implied. Sometimes that’s the downfall of electornic communication…hard to discern tone. And we’re happy to be on the forum, especially tonight. We made the decisions and it’s our job to see that process through with our applicants until the end.

xReinax, congrats! Don’t crawl, run with arms out and voice screaming! You’ve earned it.

I am afraid to touch it. I had 2 unexpected rejections which stung.
I was on a positive roll with 1 wait list until today, I so much want to feel good before my head hits the pillow. It couldn’t be bad news or limbo with a title like that, could it?

No, I still have an empty inbox also. I’m pretty sure I know my decision anyway, but it’s almost nice to stay up an give myself some semblance of hope. I figure most of the ED decisions are going out last.

I am a nervous wreck, what I meant was I had 6 acceptances and 1 waitlist until today, thought I was only going to be on the down side of things from here on out.

This is the fourth waitlist (I have one acceptance and one more to go). Can’t believe the waiting continues. I was so looking forward to April 1 and knowing where I would go. I never dreamed I would be waitlisted at so many colleges!

Congrats bluegrassgrl and eyeluvewe. Welcome to the Tribe!

Waitlist11, April unfortunately doesn’t end the stress. It just brings its own kind. We wish you all the best as you await your other decision notifications.

VAMom11, it’s not that your student did anything wrong. It’s just that so many of our applications did everything right. Our series of Admit It! Blog posts today provides more detail and we hope context for the decisions we made and how we made them ([W&M Blogs Admit It!](Admit It!, Author at The William & Mary Blogs))

eyeluvewe, that justs depends on where you live. Usually those with APO or APE addresses get their mail quickly but some international mail can take some time. However, if you live abroad you were sent a link to our welcome web site and told that there’s a part of that site where the mailed admit pack is recreated so you don’t have to wait for the mail!

I’m the parent of a son who was accepted at W&M early decision, so I share in the excitement of the parents and high school seniors who got good news, and am sorry to hear about those who did not, especially given all of their exceptional credentials.

I am very impressed, W&M Admission, with your frequent posts on this and the W&M Admit Blog. Thank you very much and keep up the great work! Very helpful to all involved in this process - I wished I had discovered those resources earlier in my son’s application process.

Out of curiosity, W&M Admission, I’m wondering if there was any different pattern in acceptances between early and regular admissions. I see that a lot of very, very qualified students were denied or waitlisted; we feel extremely fortunate that our son was accepted and I can’t help wondering how much difference Early Decision made - I fear he may not have made it had he been part of the regular decision pool. FWIW - he’s in-state. W&M Admission - any insight you can offer in how the Admissions Committee considered the early decision vs. regular decision pools? Thanks.
