And what’s the main difference between ut austin’s priority and rd?
I know ea and rd has great difference mainly on that ea’s releasing date is far earlier than rd.
Thx for reply!
If you are in the top 7% of an in state HS, you will get an acceptance letter from UT a few weeks after you apply. It does not say that you have been accepted to your major, only to UT. In mid-late November, UT releases the first acceptance to majors. These are the kids highly sought after by UT and will normally include the kids that make honors and receive merit scholarships. The second wave of acceptance has been in mid December. Again, some of those kids get in honors/scholarships. The last wave is in February and that is when the vast majority of the students find out if they have been accepted into their major. If you are not in the top 7%, you will normally find out you have been accepted to UT and major in February.
Thx gtaustin. But I’m wandering if I apply priority, will the releasing date still be in February?
I’m international student, Austin is nearly a low reach for me. Apply with undecided major.
Welcome for any more information.
If you apply by the priority date, your releasing date can be anywhere from late November thru February. Very few students hear in November/December so you should assume February. I don’t know if they hold all out of state/international decision until February or if they release any of them earlier. There are some other posters on this forum that are OOS that might know.
All right. Now I’ve a general idea. Thanks!
My daughter is OOS and applied in early October. She was accepted in November
