If we applied early action, does anyone know when UMD releases admissions decisions?

I got my transfer decision today, so hopefully it will not be too much longer for you…

You can check the Admissions page to be sure, but I’m pretty sure they let you know by late January.

I found out during end of january-ish, during snowmaggedon. Keep checking. There will be a few false alarms but this will probably be where you find out first.

last year decisions were online on january 25 or 26th; i don’t remember which.

No it was Saturday, January 30th last year. I’m positive.

Ahhh is it really January? Why do they make you wait so longgggggg~!?!?!!

what about regular decisions?

If EA is coming back so late, i doubt RD will come back anytime soon. I’d say expect it in mid-Feb.

Last year, decisions came out on January 30 aka the absolute last non-Sunday day of the month. So when they say late January, it really is late January.

how do we find out? online or by mail?

Online comes out earlier (as in the end of January). You’ll be emailed if you got accepted, but they won’t tell you if you got into any honors programs/scholar program or not. You’ll have to check online for that. Also, if you can, try to check soon that day or maybe the day after because the server is always busy with people constantly checking.

Do they send you an email as soon as they post your decision? Or only if you got accepted

would one have to constantly check the “Check Decision” page, or will you be notified to check your email?

Someone already responded that they email you. Sit tight and good luck to you all!

…And you will know from watching this board as soon as anyone hears. Also, in the past decisions have come out in waves. There are ALWAYS people who still have to wait up to a week or more when it seems like everyone else has already heard.

If you haven’t already done so, you need to make sure that your parents know to complete the FAFSA form…seems like it has been due in mid February, and it’s not something that they can do in just a few minutes. The hardest part is that they need to wait to get W-2’s, etc and in many cases have to submit an estimated FAFSA form before their taxes are completed (and then amend it later). Many of the questions come from specific line items on the IRS forms. Check the general financial aid forums here for all kinds of coverage about that.

Does scholarships and other financial aid information come out at the same time as decisions?

No. At least, it didn’t two years ago when my daughter applied. Her scholarship letter was dated March 9. I don’t know about financial aid.
