We had a lot of trouble getting on to the Compass web site acceptance area. When I finally got in, I was expecting to be asked for a credit card payment. There was nothing. Just a place to change U of T from admitted or applied (can't remember) to accepted. When do we pay some kind of deposit? Until they have taken some money, I don't feel like the deal is sealed!

nope, no payment was asked either.

Thanks! Now I won't have to worry that I missed an important step.

i just had a thought.. what happens after you accept? do you wait for more letters or do you need to be proactive and follow up yourself?

I noticed that if I went on to U OF Ts admission web site, it now lists my D as "Accepted Offer" or some such so they do up date their records. Everything else appears to come from the College. D got an e-mail from Woodsworth explaining dorm application proceedure which is done on line and includes a short essay and a listing of ECs. Those not chosen for the Res get sent over to 89 Chestnut St dorm. There is a strict time table for each step in the Res application and you get your final dorm location confirmation in mid summer. I would imagine that the other colleges follow a similar format. There are also summer orientation days for the college listed where course selection procedures are explained but I can't imagine they expect internationals to attend. Registration is on line and looks rather complicated. Last, when you got your acceptance letter, it included a letter to be used when applying for your student visa papers. DO THAT NOW!!

there's been no change on my page at the admissions website.. should i be expecting a letter or emails? also, should i just go ahead with the visa applications if i haven't recieved an official response as such from the uni?

Admitted/applicant response to offer of admission - YES

This is where my D can log on and what it says. She accepted via the Compass site on May 3rd if memory serves. Can you go on to the Ontario Compass site and look at your admission offer? Does it say accepted offer? If it does, I would give it a few more days. If you can't see the acceptance on the compass site, e-mail or call them.

I don't know if the Woodsworth College e-mail came because of Ds acceptance or if they just sent it to everyone who was offered admission. I suspect the later. You could e-mail your college registrars office and ask for confirmation of your status and if you have missed a communication from them.

Don't wait to apply, especially if you are outside of the USA or not a US citizen. I have been told that it can take quite a long time. You have the letter you need. No reason to wait.
