When's BU Send out Decisions?

That seems strange that they'd disclose international decisions prior to US... but thanks for the post!

ughh the 30th is so late ;/. hopefully your uncle is wrong and we find out earlier haha

i just dont think its enough time to decide..from april 1st to may 1st
i duno if i can pick the next 4 years of my life in a month
especially considering how i was rejected from my first choice already

only a little more than week left to wait. everyone cross your fingers! :D

The 30th is a sunday, so I'd guess the 28th or 31st.

Decisions came out on a Sunday last year.

yeah true it was a Sunday...sunday bloody sunday for some

oh my god i so cant wait for my decision..it is essiently my #####1 CHOICE..if i wont get in i mite do something stupid--<--- lol..oh well lets c..1 week it is.

Collegeboard.com says BU will send acceptances by April 15. They must have been deluged!

is it true that BU is the NYU reject school? a bit off topic but I thought I'd throw it out there... at least that's what I've been told by my relative who recently graduated

^I've never heard that.

And as a Bostonian, I'm almost offended that such a rumor exists. They're both big, urban, mid-level schools, so I'm not surprised that many people apply to both.

At son's very large northeastern public high school, the top few BU overlaps are NYU, GWU, BC, Columbia, Fordham, Georgetown. Schools in cities, clearly. NYU accepts fewer percentagewise than BU, BC accepts fewer than BU, GWU accepts more than BU, etc. You get the picture.

My son applied to BU, CFA, Music. He was not interested in applying to NYU because of certain restrictions in who could sing in what and so forth, and didn't want to live in NY (we live nearby), even though he loves NY. There were more things about BU's program he likes, and he loves Boston and there are opportunities for him to sing there, so he applied. A friend is at BU because he loves photojournalism, my nephew liked the very big scholarship he got at BU and turned down NYU, which offered less money.

I see that you applied to NYU and wish you well. Another nephew of mine is in grad school at Tisch/ITP and loves it. But there are many reasons why someone would choose BU and many why someone would choose NYU. The cities are quite different, which I'm sure you know, but they both have pretty good baseball teams....

^
umm...Yankees SUCK....mets are ok

it's actually pretty smart that they disclose international notifications prior to the US...because the mail will take a longer time to reach internationals...therefore giving us less time to think if we're enrolling or not ...

you guys have it easy :P you don't have to pay for DHL bills every single time a college sends a little letter asking to 'verify info' or 'send this back so we know you've received it' kinda thing

hahah in reference to the BU being the NYU reject school,
i would say thats pretty much true, in my case at least.

i didnt get into nyu early decision and so now BU is my number one.
but its because they share the same qualities, big, rural city areas and what not. hopefully it works out..

I wouldn't say BU is for NYU rejects. I got into NYU and chose BU over it. I know many people at BU who did the same. Many times, it was because of the finances. NYU has a terrible administration with tons of red tape. On top of that, they are very stingy with merit aid. BU is much better in all these areas.

By the way, good luck to everyone who applied!. Hope to see lots of you on campus next year!!

^^ Haha, well, BU would certainly be for me! (and I'm an NYU reject)
Overall, its pretty much the next best thing. After that, is Northeastern. I've already been accepted there with a half-tuition scholarship, so that may be an option too.

The application status page was updated today. It now says "Please note that final admissions decisions for September 2008 will be sent between late March and mid-April." Hopefully decisions will come before in the early end of that range.

That is what my son's page has said for sometime now...I emailed them and the response said early April...here's hoping for even sooner:).

the admission status webpage has always said that though. ughhh i hope it's this weekend ;/
