When's the last date you can take the SAT?

I've already taken the SAT once, the ACT once, and done two subject tests. However, Princeton requires three. Because of Speech and Debate scheduling conflicts, october 6, nov 3, and december 1 dates are all tournaments. I can get out of October 6 (but I think I'm going to retake my SAT [2220] then). I'm going to also retake my ACT (33) September 15. So, I was wondering if it would be too late if I took the 3rd Subject Test in January. I hope not, or I'll have to a) skip a major tournament, b) send 2 subject tests (which I know is a HORRIBLE idea), or c) not retake the SAT I on October 6, stick with the 2220/whatever the retake ACT score is and take the subject test then.

So, can we take the test in January or is that way too late? And if not, which of the above options seems most logical? I'm leaning towards c.

call admissions.

hmm...maybe you should think about taking the subject test in october and retaking the SAT in january? after all, the 3rd subject test is a prerequisite, whereas a higher SAT score would just be a convenience. i ended up taking the SAT over again in january, although there's no way for me to know if it impacted my admissions decision. best idea would probably be to call admissions first like ivynut suggested, and if you decide that you are going to retake the SAT reasoning test in january, just note it somewhere on your application.

don't retake both tests. forget about the SAT I and concentrate on the ACT. They take your highest score in either, and it looks as though you have a slight advantage on the ACT.

Reassurance: they want YOUR best score to report to US News and other ranking agencies. They really will take your best score between sat or act.

You don't need to retake ACT AND SAT. That's overkill. Pick one.

so if we take sats in january again, will the college accept the scores and consider them?

The answer is in Princeton's online FAQ.
