Where are the Chinese?

dreaming_melancholy! How did you get into Wharton? Stats please! THat is my ultimate dream school

^ around 700 ppl get into wharton each yr, its really not that extraordinary. you can do it!

^^^ Wharton is very selective.

wow, i never knew that there were so many nanjing people!!! But all for the better.

i love the nanjing street fairs at night

"at night"?

Nanjing has pretty cherry trees too. Zi-jing mountain, Xuan Wu lake, pagodas and monasteries, Yu Hua Tai memorial, city park where there were old men playing their erhus while their hua mei birds were singing. I haven't been there in 11 years, so there has probably been alot of changes. I heard all the wu tong trees lining the streets planted during the Republic era were cut down :(.

I've just been there last yr...its such an vibrant city and it has like everything, the best of every world.

dxu...u the at night when the street vendors set their stuff out and the food vendors set little shops on the sidewalk for miles and miles and u eat and shop and bargain like hell...i bargain over like a quarter...i should be shot

i haven't been there for like 5 years, so things must've changed a lot. my mom says there are a lot more scyscrapers and cars, not necessarily for the good of the city.

Im going there this summer, i live in Shanghai during the summer so Im gonna take the train there because Ive heard from everyone how nice and pretty it is.

yeah, it's totally awesome!!!

Kangxi, kool name.

^^agreed^^

had to keep it Chinese...:)

dreaming_melancholy, i know what you mean!! i used to think the street vendors would magically appear when the sun set so people could go shopping :) my grandparents live right next to Fu Zi Miao, so when I go to Nanjing, great shopping is a 5 minute walk away!

For Nanjingers, how is the city now? The same as five years ago?

CHINESE PRIDE!!! RARARARRARARARAR!!! Any body else from Hong Kong?

I lived in Hong Kong when I was 3-5. Kowloon I think. =]

jli...fu zi miao is the best place to be!!!! shopping and fooding and everything else wink wink. im goin there this summer, so excited.
dxu...nanjing is so awesome...its modern yet has its historic and natural parts...and its so safe too, unlike city around u.s. also the night life is the best, ppl of all ages roam around the street, pretty sweet

my parents are from taiwan but came to america for college so im a natural born american citizen!

wow gd to see so many chinese on CC ^^
