Where are you living?

That's stupid....................................

Its probably so they can get themselves organized, oh well. I'm gonna call.

when i called they also told me not to tell anyone else to call, because they were getting too many...although no harm done now because everyone knows they can call anyway. oops!

i dont live too far away (toronto so about 5-6 hours) so i guess its gonna be a road trip with the family. the girl who i spoke said they were getting soo many calls so they probably decided to stop answering. lol.

Well that does make sense, I'll try to wait awhile and let it settle down. My parents want to road trip out there, but we live in alberta so shoot me now. I'll be flying, with or without them.

my parents have this fantasy world where my entire family comes to montreal with me and stays for a week or two, i am working pretty hard right now to make sure this dream does not become a reality. what i think is actually going to happen is we'll rent a van to take all my stuff up and i will make the ten hour drive from michigan with just my parents, who will absolutely not be around for frosh week.

oh man...road tripping from there would be a biotch, well i guess that would depend on the family. lol. lots of people tend to ship out there stuff if they're flying, busing or taking the train so it'll be delivered before they arrive.

I pwned you guys.............I'm 12 hours ahead of Montreal....beat that!!!!!

speaking of frosh week..is everyone going for the traditional thing or is anyone else thinking of Radical Frosh? (concerts, discussions, workshops and less emphasis placed on alcohol)

i got douglas single!

did anybody else want/get douglas?

what is this radical frosh? that sounds like a good thing. nothing but getting drunk for a week = boring.

i'll be driving up. it's about 6-7 hours, so not awful. my dad's also planning on taking a week off with a few dinners thrown in, but only "if i have time." so he is keeping his distance - i don't mind so much anyway.

haha omg the idea of having my parents around during frosh makes queasy. And if they arent invited their feeling will be hurt! so i think we might be going up on like the 23rd, they can stick around for a few days and help me move in, and then they can pce right out.

Alright thats it im gonna call. If it really makes them mad then the worst that can happen is that they dont tell me, or I get an answering machine. And then i'm really not in any worse shape then I am now. And where do I find the number?

that does sound cool and like a good alternative, but i've never heard of it before. i really want to know more about frosh week and orientation activities/options. i'm sure it'll be a while yet for that, though...

I'm envious..............

i just found the radical frosh website:

http://www.ssmu.mcgill.ca/qpirg/radicalfrosh/

amc999 - just tell your parents that it would be an easier transition without them around, or that you think it would be harder to say goodbye if they're around for a while...don't worry about not asking them to stay or hurting their feelings because it would probably be worse to have them around for frosh week.
the number of the housing office is (514)398-6368, good luck.

haha thanks..i mentioned beer gardens though and i think they're gonna leave as soon as i'm settled

hahaha beer, the magic word

Agreed. Oh and do you need name and mcgill ID# when you call? slash what did everyone say? I'm such a chicken
