I lost the metal one I bought from the Bear Market last year and I havn't seen any more since. I already checked Sam's Market and Walgreens. I would prefer a metal durable one. Any ideas?

Online would be a great option

kleen kantine is good.

what’s the point of those metal canteens? i see them everywhere. they look expensive, small, and dent easily from what i’ve seen. just get a plastic nalgene online from rei

they’re bpa free, mainly.

get a camelbak bottle with a biteable valve, that way you don’t have to unscrew or pop open the water bottle everytime you want a drink.

i don’t like those metal canteens, they leave a metallic taste in my water which is really annoying.

I walk around with one of those backpacks that have water inside them. It’s very convenient because I just bite on a tube to get my water.

they sell sigg bottles at whole foods and some other types in the student store.

nalgene is bpa free too

I have a Camelbak bitevalve that is BPA-free. 1L. Bought it on Amazon for like $15. Best. Purchase. Ever.

Having to buy a water bottle online seems like a weird idea but I checked this Camelbak bottle on Amazon and it has 446 reviews with 4.5 stars…

Is it pretty durable, as in not cracking if thrown around with a backpack with books in it?

I’ve dragged it with me everywhere for the past 6-8 months – in my backpack to school, on planes, out on hikes, to work. I’ve dropped it, washed it by hand and in the dishwasher, smashed it under piles of books, etc. I use it every day, drinking 2-3+L water.

It’s fine! Only noticeable markings are a few indentations/scratches on the plastic lid. The bitevalve is absolutely perfect, looks brand new, and the bottle itself is the same.

Yeah I have one of those too, it works great, only two minor “issues” –
The straw doesn’t reach all the way to the bottom of the bottle, so like 0.3 oz of fluid is just sitting there. It’s really not a big deal since it reaches ALMOST all the way, though.
Also, the whole “biting” thing is kinda… awkward at first. And it must look weird to people watching you. However it really works quite excellently and doesn’t leak. :)

Would it be able to withstand fire from an assault rifle? I get shot at frequently and I don’t want to have to replace it every time…

Well you probably shouldn’t be hanging around Berkeley high then…

The answer is it depends, armor piercing rounds will definitely do some damage but generally standard rounds will just scratch the surface
