where can i go with a 2350 sat

i have a 3.1 uw low because i slacked off 3.6 w 2350 sat
where can i go with this
i have 0 e.c 0 clubs because i dont do those

You can’t go anywhere too great with that GPA and no ECs, I’m sorry to say but you’re not going to get into any top tier schools

Wow. My first thought was with a 2350 SAT you can go where ever you would like.
But when I read the rest I realized you will have a problem. Here are some things that might be going through the reviewer’s mind when he reads your application: No ECs makes you appear to have no life or personality. You problably stay home and play computer games all day. With the 3.1 and a high SAT you must be a slacker since you don’t apply yourself.

Most colleges will probably pass. Try to figure out if you really have some ECs but just didn’t realize that was what they were. Any hobbies? What do you do for fun? Do any volunteer work?

I would consider a lower tier school with the plan being to transfer to a top tier school after a year or two. Make sure you take a rigorous course load (which can all transfer if chosen correctly) and get the great grades which you are definitively capable of achieving. You may want to consider school combinations which are close in proximity to make the move easier. For example in Chicago, DePaul University with Northwestern University as a goal, or in Philadelphia, perhaps Drexel University with University of Pennsylvania. Both Drexel and DePaul are within your reach I think.

lol at mibsprincess
thats pretty rude assuming that a smart kid with a low GPA has no personality and is addicted to computer games
the way i see it no ecs and low GPA more likely corresponds to pothead behavior or + laziness and boredom with how easy school is
I can relate because through halfway through soph year I had a 2.7 GPA
and zero Ecs…
I scored a 2380 on the SAT
and I got into
NYU, UCLA, UCSC, UCSB, Lewis & Clark, UC-Boulder, DU Occidental, Colorado College
so honestly even though my GPA was a 3.54 eventually
I think you could get into some decent schools
but a 3.1 is on the really low end
I guarantee you will get into some good state schools but probably not many upper echelon liberal arts schools

and as far as mibsprincess is concerned I find people with a 4.7 GPA member of model UN and other EC overinvolvement tend to have duller personalities than those who go to parties all the time and thus have only a 4.1 GPA and only a few ECs
but yeah its ok mibs your hardly the only one who generalizes and I am guilty too
but yeah
good luck skhan78

I agree with the others, a transfer is your best bet. Your SAT score is amazing, which implies you are either very smart or a great test taker. But no EC’s and a GPA that is low when compared with your test score makes you look very lazy and unmotivated. Look for a decent school that does not care about EC’s and cares more about the SAT then your GPA (I know of very few where this is even said to be sometimes true).

Yes, I was generalizing on purpose. I don’t profess to know exactly what the admissions office will think but what I said might not be far off. At least I didn’t say pot head lol. I do agree that some of the kids with perfect everything are dull and too focused on their schooling or themselves. Some, not all, obviously.

But seriously, they get thousands of applications. If I had a stack of applications with high SATs, I bet a very high percentage will also have a high GPA. If they don’t have a high GPA they probably have some kind of explanation of why they don’t. But if there is no real good explanation and no ECs then I imagine there would be some red flags popping up. If you are planning on a top college I’m sure there are plenty of other more qualified applicants. I think the transfer solution that is suggested makes great sense.

So it seems that this question has been posted a few times before. skhan78 is in CA and seems to prefer CA schools and needs low cost of attendance. Given that a transfer option is probably the best the way to approach this is to start at a California Community College or to a California State University and then to transfer to one of the UC’s such as UCLA or Berkeley. Since the OP is plenty smart he/she can certainly figure out where to apply based on GPA by Googling admitted GPA at those schools.
