Where could I get in?

I am a current junior but I am beginning to look into different colleges and deciding on where to apply. Some of my top options include,

  • [x] Notre dame
  • [x] UVA
  • [x] William and Mary
  • [ ] Wake
  • [x] Villanova
  • [ ] Boston College
  • [x] Florida
  • [ ] UNC
  • [ ] Duke
  • [ ] Vandy
    -Dartmouth
I am hoping to have around a 4.45 gpa when applying because I have taken an insane amount of AP and honors but I have gotten Bs in a few. I play three sports (football, soccer, diving) and was in band for two years and I am in NHS French Honor Society and Science Honor society. I go on a week long mission trip every year and have always been very involved in my church. My dad went to Notre Dame and so I have a legacy there which is my number one choice. I haven’t taken the act or Sat yes but I’m hoping for high scores. What are my possibilities?

Tentative academic interests?

Duke, Vandy are out. Dartmouth/Notre Dame you are on the fence or leaning towards an admit. The rest are shoo-ins.

What state do you call home? Some of the public schools you listed are much more difficult to get into for non-residents.

Virginia

@cutepug That’s that’s what I was hoping thank you!

So far, you have a nice profile but there are a lot of missing pieces. You’ll want to take both SAT and ACT and see which test is a better fit for you. Buy the books and start practicing. Do you have any AP scores yet? If all 4s and 5s that helps, too. Think about who you will ask for your letters of recommendations. Your essays - and the supplemental essays for many of these schools - will all play a role, too. Being a VA resident helps with UVA and William & Mary. Legacy helps with ND. Good luck.

What’s your Unweighted GPA?
ND wants high test scores so start prepping!
What’s your efc? Have your parents indicated what their budget is (ie., how big is the gap)?

Without standardized test scores, your unweighted GPA, and your school’s weighting process (plus what an “insane” number is), I don’t know how anyone can make a comment. A 4.45 would barely be top 40% at my D’s school but is higher elsewhere.

Agree that you need actual standardized test (ACT or SAT) scores before anyone can offer a reasonable guess regarding your chances of admission.

By insane number I mean I’ve taken ever AP I could have possibly taken at my school so I’ve taken 9. And my unweighted is around a 3.84

Also with that gpa I’m in the top 3% in my school

So, you’re in the ballpark. You’d need to have ~4APs senior year (likely Calculus + 3 others depending on what you want to major in - AP Euro, AP French, AP English Lit wouldn’t indicate the same profile as AP Physics C, AP CSA, AP Psych).
